Nestled on 1905 S Glenburnie Rd, it's a place where the culinary arts and flavor explosions collide in delightful harmony. Stepping inside this unassuming building, one is instantly greeted by the warm, aromatic scent of simmering broths and sizzling grills. The ambiance is relaxed and casual, making it a perfect spot for both a casual lunch and an evening unwind with friends.

The menu at Sumo Bowl is a journey through East Asian delights, primarily focused on Japanese comfort food with a modern twist. Imagine steaming bowls of ramen with tender, thick-cut pork belly that practically melts in your mouth. Or, consider their sushi rolls—beautifully presented and generously sized, packed with fresh ingredients that sing with every bite. For the adventurous palate, the spicy tuna roll elicits an audible ‘wow’ with its fiery yet balanced kick.

Variety is the spice of life here, with options ranging from katsudon and teriyaki to vegetarian selections that ensure everyone leaves fully satisfied. The Poke bowls, another fan favorite, are customizable with a spectrum of fresh fish and vegetables, coupled with sauces that elevate the natural seafood flavors. And don't even get started on the appetizers - gyoza, takoyaki, and seaweed salad all make frequent appearances on tables, causing quite the debate over which is the most authentic 'starter'.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 — Ali Baba
Family owned quiet restaurant for Asian cuisine. The service was quick and the food was great. Beef egg rolls were not that good, it was basically sausage in a roll. Wouldn't recommend.

Consistently good and fresh. I grab a bite here every time I’m in town. Pictured is the Ginger chicken sub extra veggies for rice.

Excellent food and service! First time there and it was delicious! Very reasonably priced. Liked that the chicken was cut into bite sized pieces and the serving size was perfect.

Amazing ladies that work here. They take care of you. You feel like you’re at home with delicious food and a nice atmosphere. Recommend highly for a yummy meal at an incredible price in 2026!

I'm not from new Bern but I feel like this is a lost gem! I came here for my nephew's graduation..but everytime I come..the food is 🔥! Plus the prices you can't beat! Now how much you spend is based off of how many apps and entrees you get. Still you won't spend alot.

It was our first time visiting the Sumo Bowl - won’t be our last. The minute we walked in, we were greeted by Rose - she was simply wonderful. The kiddos wanted dumplings, it was their first time having them - very good! The sesame chicken was like none that we’ve ever had - it was legit the best we’ve had! Not one complaint the whole dinner! My 10yr old saved some of hers to savor the next day!
